In first person

In July 2011, I had to face the loss of my mother, which occurred as a result of sepsis. During her hospitalization in a public center, I was able to live as a family member, all the work of the health personnel who devoted themselves to her care in the ICU despite the burden of care.

I was also able to witness the lack of information about sepsis that many people around me in similar circumstances had. They asked each other questions and they also asked me questions…

Some time later, I had the opportunity to share my experience with other people within this Foundation and we made the decision to work together and add our efforts. We decided to work to improve information for people, the training of medical professionals and the awareness of health authorities. We believe that it is essential to make an effort in prevention, early diagnosis and in providing the best treatment to people with sepsis.

From those first steps, we have had the support of top-level specialists in this field who today form the Scientific Committee and selflessly contribute their experience. And also with the support of ThermoScientific® and his wonderful team who understood from the very beginning the importance of SEPSIS-ONE and gave us their sponsorship to create and promote this ambitious project.

Today we open this blog within the framework of the new initiatives that we are launching in such a painful year due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

We want it to be an open space so that family members, people who have survived sepsis and even professionals can share their experience. Sharing our experiences makes us more human, helps us mitigate our own pain and that of other people who have gone through the same situation.

The testimonials we receive will be published in this space to share them with all the people who visit us. They will all be published, with no other limitation than correctness and respect.

Thank you very much for being there, on the other side of this space of information, science and HOPE above all else.
