This application makes it possible to select the most suitable empirical antimicrobial based on the focus to ensure rapid establishment of the most effective antimicrobial therapy.
SEPSIS APP for professionals
Sepsis 3.1 has been developed so that professionals have access to the most recent international consensus assessment tools, such as the Third Consensus, along with other state-of-the-art resources and algorithms, such as the use of PCT Procalcitonin determination and MR-ProADM in the identification and stratification of the patient.
Sepsis 3.1 has been designed with the utmost scientific rigor and allows access to international protocols, antibiotic treatment algorithms, prognostic scales, information on empirical treatment, etc. His objective is the early detection of sepsis, as a key step to initiate therapeutic measures and reduce mortality.
- IDENTIFICATION AND DETECTION OF SEPSIS. The identification of the patient with sepsis is facilitated by applying the criteria of the Third Consensus. For the detection of sepsis, the Protocol for early detection and stratification of patients is maintained, widely used in patients admitted to the ICU. In this way, the evaluation of the patient can be balanced with different profiles and situations.
- DIAGNOSIS WITH PROCALCITONIN, PCT. A function to facilitate the diagnosis of systemic bacterial infection based on the PCT value. The calculator makes it possible to establish, based on the value, a recommendation for the use of antibiotics together with a risk of progression to severe sepsis.
- RISK STRATIFICATION IN ICU WITH MR-PROADM. The APP incorporates a new algorithm that allows for patient risk stratification based on the use of the MR-proADM medial proadenomedullin assay. This tool makes it possible to establish a combined assessment based on risk.
- PROGNOSTIC SCALE CALCULATORS prepared based on international protocols for use in the Intensive Care Unit. Are included:

- COUCH (Sequential Organ Failure Assessment score) - NEW ALGORITHM FOR EMPIRICAL TREATMENT BY FOCUS which allows, based on the foreseeable focus of sepsis, the empirical choice of the most appropriate antimicrobial taking into account the specific clinical scenario of the patient and even some individual determining factors, such as allergy to beta-lactams.
